Disposal in Ireland
The disposal routes indicated are based on the regulations applicable in Ireland (Repak compliance scheme, EU Packaging Regulations transposed via S.I. 282/2014 as amended) and common local authority practice, as of August 2026. The exact bin colour scheme and accepted materials can vary slightly by local authority and waste collector. For binding information, please contact your local authority or your commercial waste collector.
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the corresponding implementing acts of the European Commission, if that date is later – a single, harmonised EU-wide labelling system for packaging will be introduced under Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national disposal routes described above remain applicable.

B2B / Commercial delivery
Authorised waste collector (commercial waste). Commercial customers should dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately via an authorised commercial waste collector, not via the civic amenity site.
B2C / End customer
Civic amenity site / recycling centre. As a private consumer, bring the wooden crate to your local civic amenity site; it does not belong in the green or black bin.
Paper/Cardboard

Authorised waste collector. For larger volumes, a separate cardboard collection via an authorised commercial waste collector is recommended instead of the household green bin.
B2C / End customer
Green Bin (kerbside recycling). Flatten cardboard boxes and paper packing material, then place them in the green recycling bin (clean, dry and loose).
