Disposal in Sweden
The waste management routes specified are based on current Swedish legislation (Ordinance 2022:1274 on extended producer responsibility for packaging) and current municipal practice, as of August 2026. The system is undergoing transition: until 2027, recycling stations and property-based collection may exist in parallel depending on the municipality. Contact your municipality or waste contractor for binding information.
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the European Commission’s related implementing acts, whichever date is later – a uniform, harmonised EU labelling system for packaging will be introduced under Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national waste management routes described above apply.

Authorised waste contractor. Companies must dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately through an authorised waste contractor, not via the municipal recycling centre. Basis: Recommendation/Municipal
B2C / End customer
Municipal recycling centre. As a private individual, the wooden crate should be taken to the municipal recycling centre; it must not be thrown out with household waste. Basis: Municipal

Paper collection (municipal, generally property-based collection from 2027; recycling station beforehand). Cartons and paper filler material should be flattened and placed in the municipal paper collection or at the recycling station. Basis: Municipal/EPR (Packaging Ordinance 2022:1274)
