Disposal in Slovakia
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the relevant implementing acts of the European Commission, whichever is later – a uniform, harmonised EU label for packaging will be introduced under Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national disposal routes described above continue to apply.
The disposal routes mentioned are based on current Slovak legislation (Act No. 79/2015 Coll. on Waste) and standard municipal practice, as of August 2026. Due to the competitive model of Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs), bin colours and the responsible PRO may vary between municipalities. For binding information, please contact your local municipality or your authorised waste collector.
