Disposal in Malta
The disposal routes stated above are based on the regulations in force in Malta (approved compliance schemes GreenPak/GreenMT, WasteServ) and common local practice, as of August 2026. The exact allocation to bags or sites may vary by local council. For binding information, please contact your local council or your licensed waste operator.
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the corresponding implementing acts of the European Commission, if that date is later – a single, harmonised EU-wide labelling system for packaging will be introduced under Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national disposal routes described above remain applicable.

Licensed waste operator. Businesses must dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately through a licensed operator, not via the Civic Amenity Site.

Civic Amenity Site. As a private individual, take the wooden crate to a Civic Amenity Site; it does not belong with mixed waste.
