Disposal in Luxembourg
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the European Commission’s related implementing acts, whichever date is later – a uniform, harmonised EU labelling system for packaging will be introduced pursuant to Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national disposal routes described above remain applicable.
The disposal routes stated are based on the requirements in force in Luxembourg (Valorlux, declaration obligation for industrial packaging since 2024) and standard municipal practice, as of August 2026. The specific allocation to bags, bins, or resource centres may vary depending on the municipality or waste syndicate. For binding information, please contact Valorlux or your local municipal administration.

B2B / Commercial delivery
Approved waste management provider/Valorlux declaration. Commercial customers must dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately through an approved waste management provider and declare this industrial packaging to Valorlux (mandatory since 2024).

B2C / End customer
Resource centre (municipal recycling centre). As a private individual, take the wooden crate to the municipal resource centre; it must not be placed in general waste.

Approved waste management provider/Valorlux declaration. Larger quantities of cardboard from B2B deliveries must be collected separately through an approved waste management provider; the company responsible for the packaging must also declare this industrial packaging to Valorlux.

Municipal collection (blue bin) or resource centre. Flatten cardboard and paper padding and place them in the municipal paper/cardboard collection or the resource centre.
