Disposal in Latvia
The waste management methods indicated are based on the regulations currently in force in Latvia and standard regional practice, as of August 2026. The specific container or bag solution may vary depending on the region and waste management provider. For binding information, please contact your local waste management provider.
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the European Commission’s related implementing acts, whichever date is later – a uniform, EU-wide harmonised packaging labelling system will be introduced pursuant to Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national waste management methods described above remain applicable.

Wood

Licensed waste management provider. Businesses must dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately through a licensed waste management provider, not via the sorting site.

Sorting site. Private individuals must take the wooden crate to the sorting site; it does not belong with household waste.

Paper/cardboard or mixed (MIX) container (depending on the region). Flatten cardboard boxes and paper filler material and place them in the paper or mixed sorting container.
