Disposal in Italy
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the relevant implementing acts of the European Commission, if that date is later — a uniform, harmonised EU labelling system for packaging will be introduced pursuant to Art. 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until that date, the national disposal routes described above remain applicable.
The disposal routes listed are based on the regulations in force in Italy (Testo Unico Ambientale, CONAI system) and standard municipal practice as of August 2026. From 1 January 2023, environmental labelling indicating the material and disposal instructions for each separable component is also mandatory. For binding information, please contact your local waste management authority or appointed commercial waste contractor.

B2B / Commercial delivery
Rilegno consortium / authorised waste contractor. Commercial operators must dispose of larger crates and pallets via the Rilegno consortium or an authorised contractor for secondary/tertiary packaging, within the Accordo di Programma framework. Basis: Regulation / EPR (Rilegno)
B2C / End customer
Municipal recycling centre. As a private individual, take the wooden crate to the municipal recycling centre (Rilegno network); it must not be placed in the general waste bin. Basis: Municipal / EPR (Rilegno)
