Disposal in Finland
The waste management routes mentioned are based on current regulations in Finland (extended producer responsibility for packaging, Suomen Pakkauskierrätys RINKI Oy) and general municipal practice, as of August 2026. Properties with at least 5 dwellings must have their own plastic packaging container; otherwise, packaging is taken to a Rinki eco point. For binding information, contact your municipality or authorised waste management company.
From 12 August 2028 – or 24 months after the entry into force of the European Commission’s related implementing acts, whichever date is later – a uniform, EU-wide harmonised packaging labelling system will be introduced pursuant to Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR). Until then, the national waste management routes described above apply.

Authorised waste management company. Commercial customers must dispose of larger wooden crates and pallets separately through an authorised waste management company, not via the municipal waste facility.

Municipal waste facility. As a private individual, take the wooden crate to the municipal waste facility; it must not be placed in mixed waste.
